M3R Logistics Deploys Inventory and Order Entry System for International Fulfillment Customers
Bannockburn, IL - 7/22/2008 - Decision Design Corporation, a leading custom software development firm, today announced the production deployment of a new warehouse management and international shipping system for M3R Logistics, an product fulfillment company located near Los Angeles, CA.
The new system, called M3RL, will be the cornerstone of M3R Logistics highly automated fulfillment warehouse operation specializing in fast turnaround of international shipment destinations. The M3R Logistics business is to provide short term storage, and order fulfillment for its small to medium sized manufacturing and ecommerce clients.
M3R Logistics provides a single, centralized warehouse facility to receive, store, pack, and ship products in a fast response mode. The new M3RL system will support this business by providing essential capabilities in order entry, storage, palletizing, cross docking, labeling, pick, pack and pre-packing, and FedEx and UPS shipping.
When M3R Logistics formed its fulfillment company in 2008, it knew that automation was an essential component to provide its customers the advantages of streamlined order entry, warehouse, and shipping. But M3R Logistics also knew that while its customers were not Fortune 1000 in size and with Fortune 1000 budgets, their customers still needed the powerful automation tools that these large companies use to lower costs and provide world class customer service. M3R Logistics partnered with Decision Design to create a mission critical automation system that fit the exact business needs of M3RL’s fast turnaround fulfillment needs, while ensuring that its warehouse operations were based on best of breed work processes.
The new system was developed using the Microsoft .NET framework and stores its data in a SQL Server database. The system integrates with customer systems to receive orders electronically and it also integrates with FedEx to provide real time tracking numbers and shipping labels.
